2-7-98 HOLONS and The Lives of Great People
One of the contributions of Systems Theory is the concept of holons. Holons are whole/parts within a hierarchical matrix. A holon is a whole to systems below it and a part to systems above it.
In the human personality, the highest holon is the spiritual nature and this is why the other seven fields of living are never as fascinating as the field of spiritual life. Thus, to be in a stream of a universal archetype, such as the path of the heart (Bhakti Yoga), is far more interesting than any isolated personality trait or complexes.
Vedic history recognized this fact and that is why its heroes and heroines are always archetypal ones. Hegel also recognized this same fact and suggested that the external lives of individuals are ultimately sacrifices for the state, although the true meaning of this statement has often been misconstrued.
The second most fascinating aspect of an individual's
life is in relationship to the field of living governing destiny.
I discuss this subject at great length in the lives of many great
people.
