Most people are aware of this former basketball star, who at 7’2’’, dominated the lane and, more often than not, carried his teammates to victory. However, Kareem was also a very private person who did not always extend himself to the public or even his friends and associates. According to a recent Sports Illustrated article, this proclivity has finally caught up with Kareem and has hurt his attempts to acquire a coaching position in pro basketball. He finally decided to accept a job coaching high school kids at an Indian reservation in Arizona! Of course, he will also be writing a couple of books while staying there, including one on his experiences with the Apache people. So the question arises, why has Kareem suddenly decided to enter the public domain once again after coveting his privacy after retirement from basketball?

The answer lies in his spiritual nature and the fact that this field of living has become a temporal ruler of his life. His spiritual nature is a solar one, which may sound strange considering his love of privacy, but that proclivity is due to his mental health nature governed by Saturn, not his solar nature. A person with this mix (Sun and Saturn) loves to be in the limelight, but on his own restricted terms.

Do to other factors in his nature, Kareem will also develop enemies without apparent reason. At the same time, he is more than capable of conquering these enemies, even if, at the same time, he is always in fear of them. He is a competitor by nature (member of the Warrior caste) and thus I applaud his return to a profession where these instincts can be combined with his abundant teaching skills (Venus governs his career nature).

However, Kareem is not one to maintain his relationships – marital, business, or just friendships. He will find reasons to feel under appreciated or insulted and to break off these ties. But because of his underlying charisma, he will always find new relationship opportunities – just as he has done most recently. Who else could take a high school coaching job at some remote location and make headlines because of it!
