2-16-98 AMADEUS MOZART

The movie "Amadeus" gave a most accurate portrayal of many aspects of Mozart's life and character. It is in harmony with the esoteric personality blueprint of Mozart provided by The Art of Multi-Dimensional Living. First, there was his inability to hold onto money (a weak Moon governed his field of wealth). Then there was his unconventional, and, at times, outrageous style of relating (the Nodes of the Moon governed his field of interpersonal relationships). And then there was his robust worldly nature, which treasured private social life and reflected his Shudra caste nature (Saturn governed his field of dharma). However, the most fascinating aspect of Mozart's life related to the field of living known as creative play, because it governed his life destiny. The creative process was Mozart's primary passion and this is why he was driven to compose even while on his deathbed.

Some individuals have a great desire to compose music, but not necessarily the ability to do so. Mozart had both gifts. The planet which governed his creative gifts, the Sun, as well as the planet governing his career nature, Mercury, were in, what astrology calls, the Fifth House of the horoscope, the house of creative products or results. This signifies that Mozart's artistic endeavors reach magnificent results both in terms of quality and quantity of output.

NOTE: Some systems of astrology have the Sun and Mercury in the sixth house, particularly the Vedic systems of astrology. This is one example of why we cannot compare the applied aspect of The Art of Multi-Dimensional Living, which I sometimes call "The Cosmology of The Eight Fields of Living", to anything traditionally deemed astrological. Its conclusions are, too often, different from those of conventional forms of astrology, even though it uses the same archetypal language. In addition, both its methodology and its conclusions are based in a new form of spiritual science rather than book-learned astrological rules.

The fact that Mozart's creative nature was under the influence of the Sun implies many things: 1) his musical compositions were "sunny" in nature; they always uplift the listener's spirits; 2) he was skilled in all forms of musical composition; 3) he was particularly gifted in creating musical dramas (operas); and 4) his music is so universal in scope that it transcends the popular musical trends of any age.
