We are skin-friendly
DIM complies with the OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 a certification granted by independent institute OEKO-TEX®, which provide the end consumer with a reliable, third-party, independent product label for non-hazardous products that are tested in accordance with theSTANDARD 100, criteria catalogue and thereby contribute to effective consumer protection. Taken in their entirety, the requirements of the OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 go far beyond existing national legislation. To learn more about this certification, please click here.
We focus on product durability
We are committed to offering women tights with the finesse, aesthetics and comfort they are looking for, while maximizing their strength and durability.
Our tights follow a strict and very thorough process of research and development, followed by quality and resistance tests. Even before being manufactured, each potential launch is subjected to about 50 tests with a representative panel of consumers. SIf satisfaction rate is under 80%, DIM revisits the product development process. Hosiery products are verified throughout the manufacturing process: more than 700,000 inspections are carried out each year at our sites in Autun, France.
We work hard on sustainability
We are also working on several strategic projects on sustainability, to manufacture tights made from recycled yarns and to allow recycling tights. We will also implement soon an ECO-SMART label on all our products.

In the beautiful French Bourgogne region, at Autun, the DIM brand’s birthplace, 800 passionate women and men elaborate the DIM products. Our tights have been knitted there for 60 years! We have developed state-of-the-art expertise and continue to leverage our unique French know-how and advanced technology to offer the very best to our clients. And each Autumn, we open our doors to our neighbors to share our passion about DIM.

We secured ISO 50 001 certification in 2014, which recognizes our efficient energy consumption management. At our Autun sites in France, in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region, we have reduced our water consumption by 20% over the past 4 years.

Following are highlights from
the company’s 2017 performance
Hanesbrands’ robust energy-management program, which has an enterprise-wide approach and an intense focus on the company’s mostly owned supply chain operation, resulted in 21 percent less energy used per pound of apparel manufactured in 2017 versus 2007..

The company’s manufacturing facilities play a large role in its energy-reduction goal. To date, 25 of Hanes’ manufacturing facilities have earned awards from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Energy Star Challenge for Industry for reducing energy use by more than 10 percent within a five-year period.
Hanesbrands’ energy-management effort has the added benefit of reducing carbon dioxide emissions, which dropped 28 percent in 2017 for each pound of apparel manufactured compared with 2007. This achievement is the equivalent of eliminating nearly 250 million miles driven by an average passenger vehicle.
Water conservation, along with wastewater treatment, are important aspects of Hanes’ commitment to environmental responsibility. In 2017, the company used 30 percent less water per pound of manufactured apparel than we did in 2007.
Globally, the company adheres to world-class water-management and waste-water treatment practices as we strive to reduce our impact on the environment. Additionally, Hanesbrands sources nearly all of its cotton from the southeastern United States, where annual rainfall exceeds a cotton plant’s water requirements.
Not only has Hanesbrands reduced its energy consumption, but it has shifted 33 percent of the energy it does use to renewable sources.
Hanesbrands owns and operates two state-of-the-art biomass facilities in its global energy portfolio. The first is a process steam biomass boiler at the company’s textiles facility in the Dominican Republic, and the second is a biomass-fueled combined heat and power system connected to its textile and sock plants in El Salvador.
A large portion of the energy used to make Hanes’ T-shirts and underwear in the Western Hemisphere is generated by biomass, hydro and geothermal energy sources – and this helps the company avoid using energy created by burning coal and oil.
In 2017, Hanesbrands achieved a landfill diversion rate of 84 percent, recycling more than 118 million pounds of fabric-cut parts, corrugate, plastic and other materials. The company is continuously working to identify opportunities to minimize waste and reuse materials.

We strive to help those in need
DDIM has been a committed partner of Agence du Don en Nature (ADN) since 2014. ADN collects unsold, non-perishable products and redistributes those products through its 500 charity partners, who in turn distribute the items to 600,000 people in need. Green for Good
In 2010, Hanesbrands created Green for Good, a unique philanthropic program that combines three of our corporate social responsibility practices – environmentalism, volunteerism and community improvement. It takes proceeds from our sound environmental practices, such as recycling and energy savings, and uses them to fund community improvement projects carried out by employee volunteers in the areas of education, healthcare, disaster relief and infrastructure development.
Green for Good projects in Latin America have included the renovation of health clinics, hospitals, orphanages and schools, as well as environmental programs and medical missions. In the United States, Green for Good projects include our annual support of the United Way, the Arts Council of Winston-Salem and Forsyth County, Habitat for Humanity and disaster relief.
